What did people do before social security, medicare, medicaid, welfare were enacted?

They worked and had some pride!!!!!They may have been sicker and poorer but they took care of there family!They could hold there head high and say I Supply this for my family ..The kids always went a step father...Marrages lasted longer..and life as family untie was better and Special..Men were men and there was no shame of just being a mom....Gee what world do you want to live in...Live a Longer Crap life or live a life where you know who you are and what your job is and do what your supposed to do....Hummm Gee hard I know
