Ladies/Girls waht do you think?? Can you be too much of a gentleman?

When im going on a date, i always want to be romantic and make the girl feel special but i chicken out. If i turned up with flowers and sent chocolates, opened doors would it impress you? It makes me feel awkward and that its a bit 'put on'. Needless to say not doing it in the past hasnt worked otherwise i wouldnt be asking this. Im a bit insecure and think this is stopping me being an old fashioned gent. How do you girls feel, should i turn up on her doorstep with flowers and chocolates open the door for her and tell her she looks absolubtly beautiful?? Or does that make you feel awkward? Would you think im being ist? Ive never had a proper girlfriend and really want one. I think im just scared they will laugh or reject me, that gets even worse when i have to go in for the kiss!! When do i know when? Help!!!
